LEGO Serious Play
Think with your hands. In a LEGO Serious Play workshop, each participant uses LEGO bricks to build an answer to a serious question: how do we work together, where do we want to go, and what is holding us back? Each model tells a story, and together you build a single shared vision. Not a meeting where three people talk and the rest nod, but a table where everyone builds, everyone shares their thoughts and everyone is heard.

Why?
Why are Lego Serious Play activities so effective?
- Your hands know more than you realise. Building stimulates a different kind of thinking to talking; insights emerge that remain hidden in an ordinary conversation.
- 100% participation. In a traditional meeting, 20% of the people speak for 80% of the time. Here, everyone contributes and has their say, including those who are usually quiet.
- Using metaphors safely. You’re talking about the model, not the person. This makes it possible to discuss even sensitive topics openly.
- Everyone is on an equal footing when it comes to the building blocks. The same building blocks for the trainee and the CEO; hierarchy falls away, ideas prevail.
- The methodology was developed within the LEGO Group and is scientifically underpinned; we add our own twist to it.
- A vivid image sticks in the mind. Months later, someone might still say "the shark in the bath" and everyone knows straight away what they’re talking about.
- Playing seriously is doubly effective: it combines the energy of building with the depth of the conversation that follows.

What can you expect?
LEGO Serious Play: putting your team literally on the table
- We’ll start with a clear key question for your team, which we’ll decide on together during a preparatory meeting.
- A warm-up with the bricks, so that everyone can quickly learn how to build and tell stories. No building experience is required.
- Each participant builds their own model in response to the question, and tells the story behind it. Everyone gets a chance to speak; no one can hide.
- Metaphors make abstract themes tangible: a bridge, a wall, a shark in the bath. This is how you discuss matters that would otherwise go unmentioned.
- We work together to build a single shared model from individual models: your vision, collaboration or challenge, literally laid out on the table.
- You’ll wrap up with concrete insights and agreements. The shared model will be photographed and will remain on display, both literally and figuratively.
- Accessible to everyone. Learn each other's communication styles, work more efficiently, and solve challenges playfully.

Goal
As you work together, create a single shared picture of your vision, collaboration or challenge, in which everyone’s voice has literally been given a place.
Target audience
This programme has been designed for your team of up to 15 people with one coach. LEGO Serious Play works best in smaller groups where everyone really gets a chance to have their say. Is your team larger? In that case, we’ll bring in several coaches and work at parallel building tables.
Requirements
A quiet space with plenty of table space is all you need. At your office or at one of our venues in Brussels. We’ll bring the bricks and all the other materials with us.

The power of LEGO Serious Play lies in asking the right question. During a preparatory discussion, we work together to identify the key question for your session: vision, values, collaboration, change or something completely different. Our coach then builds the entire programme around this.
