🎨 Painting goals

A colourful teambuilding game around cooperation and conflict

Here's how it works:

Each participant is given a different goal (e.g. "make horizontal lines", "draw three squares"), but no one is allowed to talk. Within minutes, it becomes clear: some goals clash.

💬 Reflection: How do you deal with conflicting interests in your team? Do you let go of your own purpose for the collective?

👉 A powerful exercise to visualise collaboration and communication.

🔥 The Hot Fries

A practical collaboration exercise with metaphor for flow

Here's how it works:

Use three pieces of drainpipe, a ball and a box.
The group must get the ball into the box without stopping or allowing anyone to run.

💬 Reflection: The little ball symbolises the "flow" of a process.
What happens if someone moves too fast or too slow? Who monitors the direction?

A simple but brilliant metaphor for workplace collaboration.

toothpick team building games

🧩 Toothpick - A-B-C

A creative team building game for communication and interpretation

Here's how it works:
The group is given an everyday situation, such as:

"The train is leaving right in front of you."
"A picnic is disrupted by rain".

They build out this scene with matches on the table. Then the teams move on to another table, interpret each other's artwork, add a 'hero', and finally invent a plot twist.

On feedback, you notice: what you meant is rarely what others saw.

💬 Reflection: A great way to show how communication works - or sometimes doesn't work. Perfect for teams struggling with assumptions, feedback or misunderstandings.

🧠 Idea-Killer Bingo

A humorous tool for meetings with spirit

Here's how it works:

Create a bingo card with typical "idea-killers":

  • "We have tried that before," he said.
  • "Yes, but..."
  • "We don't have a budget for that."
  • ..

Every time someone makes such a statement? Bingo! And a euro in the pot.

💬 Reflection: Teams learn to use humour to deal with negativity and make more room for creativity.

🌉 Across the stream

Short game to discuss something

Here's how it works:
Draw an imaginary stream on the ground. Those ready to share something (an idea, insight, value), jump across the stream. Then in pairs, then in groups of four.

💬 Reflection: This game works well with themes such as "What do we take away?" or "What do we think is important as a team?"
Symbolic, light and connecting.

Pair the pleasant with the useful.

👂The Echo of the Movement

A small team-building game about perceiving and listening

Here's how it works:

Have the team line up. The first makes a movement and sound. The next one tries to imitate this exactly, and so on until the last one.
The latter shows what he/she saw - often a totally different version from the original.

😂 Hilarious as well as insightful!

💬 Reflection: Use this game to tell the difference between hear and listen to discuss. How much information do we lose along the way?

ha ka dosh games for team building

⚔️ Ha-Ka-Dosh

An energetic icebreaker full of focus and fun

Here's how it works:

Everyone stands in a circle. One person "attacks" with a sword motion and shouts Ha!
The neighbouring persons respond with Ka!, and the middle one with Dosh!

Try to keep up the rhythm - laughter guaranteed.

💬 Reflection: A fun way to generate alertness, concentration and group energy.

🧟The Zombie Exercise

Small collaborative, high-energy exercise

Here's how it works:

Place chairs in the room (one more than the number of participants). One player is the zombie and tries to sit on the empty chair. The others must prevent this by quickly changing chairs - but they are not allowed to go back to their previous place.

💬 Reflection: How quickly do you react to change? Who takes initiative? Who keeps watching?

An excellent energiser and metaphor for teamwork.

mirror palace group work together

🪞 Mirror Palace

An exercise in non-verbal communication and trust

Here's how it works:

Have the group face each other in pairs.
One person is the 'mirror', the other makes slow movements with arms, shoulders, face... The mirror tries to follow each movement as precisely as possible, as if there really is a mirror between them.

After 1 minute, the roles switch - and then... let them move at the same time, with no one in charge.

💬 Reflection:
Who takes charge spontaneously? Who adapts?

🧱 Bridge of Misunderstandings

A hilarious collaborative exercise on communicating clearly

Here's how it works:

Divide the group into two teams.
Put the teams with their backs to each other, each with an identical set of building materials (lego, blocks, or paper constructions).
One team builds a structure and has to describe it to the other team, which has to recreate the structure - without looking.

Afterwards, the structures are compared. Spoiler: they rarely look alike. 😂

💬 Reflection:
How clearly do we really communicate?
What happens when feedback is lacking or we assume the other person understands?

Perfect for teams looking to improve their communication patterns.
